Metabolic dysfunctions of the human body are the origin of many diseases – from the entire organ to the individual cell. Nuclear imaging diagnostics offer the “in vivo” investigation of such disorders using radioactive labeled drugs which are selectively fed into the metabolic pathway in trace amounts. Among the various procedures in nuclear medicine, PET (Positron Emission Tomography) with F-18 FDG provides
the most accurate analysis.
